SpaceX's Future Rocket Could Be Twice As Big, Said Elon Musk

Meanwhile, SpaceX is in the middle of attention due to its first-stage achievements before making the dream of colonizing Mars come true.

It was not until 28th August 2019 for all of us to see SpaceX test the launch of its Starhopper. It was marked as a milestone success when the prototype reached the highest untethered leap on the sky. After the event, Elon Musk had expressed his joy and congratulated his team on Twitter for the successful. Besides, he also openly gave some hints regarding upcoming models of the rocket.

As part of an ambitious plan called Mars Mission, SpaceX built the prototype of Starhopper. Colonizing Mars is not a far-away dream if the human can build up transportation facilities there. As tweeted by Musk, the prototype boasts 9 meters of core diameter while the next-generation rocket’s size will be as twice as the current prototype’s, suggesting 18 meters in diameter of its core body. Musk and his team are planning to boost the final version and land it on Mars.

According to Teslarati, the next-gen rocket will still share the same ratio which was designed in the prototype but it’ll definitely a giant with 240 meters in height as well as thousands of metric tonnes when it comes to weight after being fueled up. It’s also expected to be the most powerful and biggest rocket ever built. It sounds insane as the lift-off of an 18-meter rocket variant would require at least 100 Raptor engines.

A Starhopper with a larger size will bring a lot of difficulties for Elon Musk and SpaceX's engineers.

SpaceX, in the meantime, is in the middle of attention due to some first-stage achievements before making the dream of colonizing Mars come true.
