Elon Musk Believes This Drug Might Treat Corona.virus

Being known as a person who always keeps his own opinions even when they are controversial, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is holding his belief on a drug that can treat coronavirus after pointing out the panic around this ongoing pandemic is dumb. Additionally, he also attached a research paper in his recent tweet to support his idea. 

Based on that research, he claimed that the drug chloroquine may potentially fight the virus because it is proven to be an effective medication against COVID-19. The Google Docs link of that research is also attached in a recent tweet authored by Elon Musk. 

Specifically, the research paper which has the title of “An Effective Treatment for Coronavirus (COVID-19)” is presented by James M. Todaro, MD and Gregory J.Rigano, Esq, under discussion with Stanford University School of Medicine, UAB School of Medicine and National Academy of Sciences researchers. 

The research’s conclusion claimed that the guidelines from South Korea and China have reported that chloroquine showed its effectiveness in the process of treating for Coronavirus victims. It presented in the positive results it had brought for those who got infected, particularly in the faster time to recover and shorter time to stay in the hospital.

In addition, US CDC research also pointed out this drug had strong potential as a prophylactic (preventative) measure against coronavirus in the laboratory while waiting for a vaccine. Moreover, chloroquine is affordable and available on a global scale that has been in worldwide use since 1945 against malaria, autoimmune and many other conditions.  

Currently, the pandemic is seemingly getting worse and worse and people around the world are being urged to contribute to the fight against the virus by social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene by washing hands properly based on the WHO instruction, using tissues when coughing and sneezing and so on.
