Company Offers $1,000 Reward To Anyone Using A Flip-Phone For A Week

Back in the day, flip-phones were taking the whole world by storm. But today, they are considered antiques and replaced by more modern smartphones.

To celebrate the first ever flip-phone’s 30th anniversary, Frontier Communications, an Internet and phone service provider from Uta, has announced that it is offering a $1,000 award to anyone who can ditch their smartphone and use a flip-phone for one week.

The candidate will have to record the time it takes them to do all the simple tasks like texting or sending emails, their sleeping time and if their productivity increases.

In a press release, Frontier Communications said:

Besides the old-fashioned flip-phone, the candidate will also get a “boredom buster swag bag” which is meant to compensate for the flip-phone’s missing features. The said thing is said to consist of a paper map which will take place of a GPS navigation, a pen, a notepad, a few 90s CDs to replace the media player and a pocket phone book.

According to Frontier Communications, there have been more than 30,000 people signed up for the challenge to win $1,000. However, applicants need to be over 18 years old. Those who are active users on social media or up to vlog their whole experience can receive bonus points. The company will announce the winner on July 7th.
