Opened in March 2019, Under (Norway) is Europe’s first underwater restaurant where guests are guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience.

Opened in March 2019, Under (Norway) is Europe’s first underwater restaurant. The dining-place is in Lindesnes, a small town in Southern Norway. Under is a project of architecture firm Snohetta which was in charge of the Opera House in Oslo or the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York. The restaurant is designed with a part of its entrance above the water level while its main area where the guests will have their meals is 5 meters underwater.

Although it is the world’s biggest underwater restaurant, Under only takes 35 to 40 guests each night. There’s no doubt that the guests will have an unforgettable experience as they can enjoy their meal while watching sea life through a 11x4m panoramic window.

The lighting system is installed so that the customers can observe the sea in any weather condition. Of course, the dishes at the restaurant consist mostly of seafood. The Danish chefs here will use local ingredients like cod, lobsters, and mussels to make the food.

If a diner has visited Under, they can’t complain about the experience here. Below are some photos of the restaurant, which has just been voted by Time as the best destination in the world in 2019.
