Recently, followers of Lalarstein (@silver_eel) on Twitter was stunned by his insanely realistic-looking 3D-printing mask that looks just like him. The mask is perfect, even the tiniest detail.
Lalarstein described himself as a professional 3D-scanning expert and cameraman whose name has appeared in many Japanese films’ credits roll. His realistic 3D-printed mask was unveiled on Twitter just last month. And people instantly went crazy about it.
And looking at the mask, it isn’t that surprising as it truly and incredibly looks just like his own face. The photo shows Lalarstein holding the mask right next to his face. And you can tell that it’s almost perfect, even the hairs on the eyebrows or the tiny moles that are on his cheeks.
The details about the process of making this fascinating mask weren't revealed. However, Lalarstein did say that what he used was a Stratasys J750 3D printer and a Super Scan Studio Face Rig 3D scanner.
The lifelike mask has brought to Lalarstein so many praises for such a well-done job. Some ask him if this will work with the facial recognition tech on Android and Apple phones. However, the creator of the mask revealed that he had already tested it with some iPhones models but it didn’t succeed in fooling the software.
Lalarstein said that he used this mask online conferences and meetings, which allowed him to catch some sleep without offending anyone.
