Robots, representatives of the automation technology, have expanded their effects on wider fields, instead of the automotive industry as they were.

The Association for Advancing Automation or the A3 has recently published the latest statistics saying that, compared to the year 2017, the automotive industry in North American supplemented 12% fewer robots to its labour forces in 2018.

Along with a series of other slack industries, the year 2018 still hit a record with the enormous amount of new robot employees.

The A3 revealed that the number of shipped robots of 2018 reached 35,880, 7% higher than that of 2017. Among those, only 19,178 robots were bought by automotive customers meanwhile the number of 2017 had been 21,732.

In addition, a lot of other industries showed considerable increases in the total amount of robots that took part in the labour forces. The increased percentages of robots were respectively 31% in life sciences, 22% in electronics, and 48% in consumer goods.

The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation’s president Rob Atkinson came as no surprise with what the A3 shared concerning the growth of robot workers.

However, the above figures have also shown that automation is covering the whole labour forces in North America. It’s time for all nations to make the preparations for the upcoming impact.
