Xiaomi Smartphone Shipments In India Surpass 100 Million Units In 5 Years

Xiaomi has recently announced that more than 100 million phones have been shipped in the Indian market in 5 years since the start. As per Manu Kumar Jain, Head of Xiaomi India citing the data from IDC, the company has reached the feat from Q3, 2014 to July 2019. Also, it is among the fastest companies to reach the mark of 100 million units within only 5 years since the inception. Accordingly, the Redmi Note and Redmi A series are considered the 2 most popular phone lineups in the market and likely take up a big share of the earnings.
Moreover, the company is also holding the top spot in India for 8 consecutive quarters with 28.32% of market share in the second quarter of this year, as per IDC. Additionally, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 6A became 2 best-selling phones in India in the quarter. The Note 7 Pro is among a few mid-range smartphones in the price range of Rs. 15,000 featuring a 48MP main camera on the back with Sony IMX586 lens while the Redmi 6A is an entry-level offering. The phone comes with a Snapdragon 675 chipset and a beefy 4,000 mAh cell.
