According to the company, two major improvements were made after the cancellation of the initial launch in April. The first one is an enhancement to the protective layer, which was mistaken as a screen film by some reviewers. It is now a lot harder to peel off. This change was made after some people removed the layer on the Samsung foldable phone with the initial design thinking that it would not affect the display. The protective layer on the revamped Galaxy Fold now covers beyond the bezels, making it looks like a part of the whole machine, not something anyone can comfortably take off.

Along with expanding the layer, the foldable phone from Samsung also comes with additional reinforcements to prevent small particles from entering the inside of the phone. With T-shaped “protection caps,” Samsung said that debris had less chance of making their way through the hinge’s top and bottom.

Samsung has spent the past few months fixing the flaws in the hardware of the Galaxy Fold as well as improving services and apps for the phone. For the time being, Samsung is doing some final tests to prepare for the release of the phone in September.

For now, the company has not released the full list of the selected markets it intends to launch its first foldable phone, but more details will come along soon.
