TENAA Listing Reveals Full Specifications Of Redmi 7A

It appears that the Chinese company Xiaomi is set to launch the direct successor to the last year’s Redmi 6A. A new device is up on TENAA website with two model numbers - M1903C3EC and M1903C3EE. The handset is speculated to be the Redmi 7A, and it might come to China soon. However, Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned about the handset at all. Instead, it has been touting the forthcoming Redmi K20 which is the first flagship from its sub-brand Redmi.

The device was first listed with photos only. However, TENAA later updated more details onto the listing. Let’s start with what we can learn from the photos first. According to those pictures, the upcoming Redmi 7A will still embrace the design of its predecessor Redmi 6A. That means it will still not have a notch or punch hole which seem to be the recent trend. Instead, the handset is shown to have normal bezels on both the top and bottom. The notable difference between the two is the slimmer bezels on the Redmi 7A.

You can see that the power button and volume rock are still placed on the right while the tray for the SIM card is still present on its left side. On the rear, there is only one camera along with a single LED flash as well. Under the camera module is an ‘AI Camera’ suggesting that the camera will be supported by some AI features. The fingerprint scanner is nowhere to be seen at the back, which indicates that it will still have the same Face Unlock feature as the Redmi 6A. There will still be a possibility Xiaomi going for the on-screen fingerprint scanner, but that would be insane for a budget device.

In terms of hardware specifications, both of the models listed on TENAA with an octa-core processor that is clocked @ 1.4GHz. The handset is listed in three variants which are 2GB of RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB of RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB of RAM + 64GB of storage. Users can further expand the storage using a microSD card up to 256GB.

The upcoming Redmi 7A will sports a 5.45-inch panel with 720 x 1,440p resolution. It is listed to boot the latest Android 9 Pie, possibly with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 on top. In terms of camera, it features a single 13MP on the rear as well as a single 8MP selfie camera. Powering the handset will be a larger 3,900 mAh battery. Finally, the Redmi 7A will be offered in multiple color variants, including Green, Purple, Gray, White, Blue, Red, Pink, and Black.
