Xiaomi Teased Redmi Note 8 Pro Durability Ahead Of Official Release

Xiaomi has just teased the durability of the upcoming Redmi Note 8 Pro and it seems the handset didn't fail the expectation.

The Redmi Note 8 lineup is set to debut in China on 29 August. Ahead of the release, the brand has teased several new features of the phones. Recently, it shared some camera samples of the Note 8 Pro phone and confirmed the vanilla Note 8 phone would sport a 48MP primary sensor and be powered by Snapdragon 655 chipset.

And now to emphasize the phone’s strength, Lu Weibing, General Manager at Redmi, shared a video clip showing two Note 8 Pro phones were put under a heavyweight athlete’s legs while he lifted 90-kilogram weights to prove the durability of the phone’s screen. As a result, both handsets still worked well and did not have any damage.

As you may know, Lu Weibing already confirmed that the Note 8 Pro will come with an Helio G90T chipset from MediaTek. As the phone supports 4G connectivity and features MediaTek HyperEngine, it will have dual-link service support. Regarding Wifi network, the handset is expected to have support for Wifi/LTE dual concurrency as well as 5G/2.4G dual Wifi concurrency.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first phone in the Redmi series to feature a quad-camera setup on the back with a 64MP primary sensor. The sensor is Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1. In addition, the durability video also showed that the phone will flaunt a dewdrop notch to house a selfie sensor. Also, the phone is tipped to pack with a big 4,500 mAh battery with liquid cooling and 18W quick charging tech.

Additionally, it successfully gained a total score of 283,333 points, a bit higher than that of a Snapdragon 710 chipset. As the official launch date is coming closer, we could know more information soon.
