Samsung Has Finally Fixed The Galaxy Fold And It's Now Ready For Production

Samsung has finished fixing the flaws on the screen of its Galaxy Fold after two months of delay. The phone is now ready for mass production.

We had expected the Samsung Galaxy Fold to be the very first foldable phone to hit the smartphone market. However, the company had to delay the launch of its $1,980 device due to reviewed flaws in its screen-destroying design. Samsung initially claimed to launch the phone on April 26, but as of now, the Korean giant has postponed the release for 2 months and we’re still counting.

The good news is, today, Samsung has finished the redesign for the Galaxy Fold, according to Bloomberg’s report.

While a source told the publication that the new release date hasn’t been revealed, the phone maker is finally ready to mass produce the Galaxy Fold for consumers.

Review units reported that the initial design had screen failures. When they removed the protective film, which was mistaken for a screen protector, the display failed. The new Galaxy Fold will include a protective film wrapping around the screen, which makes it much harder to remove.

On Monday, DJ Koh – Samsung mobile chief, admitted that he rushed the smartphone to market before it was truly ready. The chief said in a meeting with journalists that the matter was embarrassing and that he pushed the phone through before it was really ready.

The manufacturing process will begin soon, but we won’t see the fixed Fold on August 7 at the next Unpacked event, according to the source.

And this isn’t the first time the company has admitted its mistake for issues with its phones. In 2016, Samsung had to recall its Galaxy Note 7 after learning that its battery overheated and burned. After investigations into the manufacturing processes and design of the phone, the company announced a safer battery protocol.
