Realme X With Snapdragon 710 SoC & Pop-Up Camera Launched In China

Realme just announced a new handset in its smartphone portfolio called Realme X packing a 16MP pop-up selfie camera & Snapdragon 710 SoC.

After many rumors and leaks, Realme has now officially announced two new handsets in its home country China. The two smartphones are called Realme X & Realme X Lite. The company still sticks to its tradition with these two phones. The Realme X offers great features for its price, including notch-free and bezel-less AMOLED panel, on-screen fingerprint scanner, pop-up camera, dual rear camera setup with a 48MP sensor, Snapdragon 710 SoC, and stunning design with a gradient finish. On the other hand, the Realme X Lite is just a rebranded model of the Realme 3 Pro, which has already been launched in India on 22 April.

Realme X: Price in China

The Realme X is priced from 1,499 CNY (around Rs. 15,500) for the base option with 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage. The price goes up to 1,599 CNY (around Rs. 16,500) for the 6GB RAM / 64GB of storage variant. The highest variant with 8GB RAM / 128GB of storage will come with a price of 1,799 CNY (around Rs. 18,500). The phone will come in two color variants which are Punk Blue and Steam White.

The company also offers an additional variant called Realme X Onion & Garlic Edition with 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage for 1,899 CNY (around Rs. 19,300).

The Realme X will be up for sale in China from 20 May. Honor hasn’t mentioned the launch date of the handset in India, but it did confirm that the phone would eventually come to India.

The handset sports a large 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution, a layer of Gorilla Glass 5, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent. Embedded under the display is the 6th-gen fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. Thanks to the pop-up selfie camera design, the phone doesn’t have any notch or punch hole or any sort on its display. Ticking at its core is a Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with 6/8GB RAM + 64/128GB of expandable storage. The phone is also equipped with HyperBoost 2.0 to further improve its performance.

In terms of camera, the handset comes with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 5MP depth sensor for taking portrait photos. On the front, there is a 16MP Sony IMX4751 pop-up selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Camera modes include AI scene detections up to 16 types, HDR, recording slow-mo videos @960 fps. For software, the Realme X ships with ColorOS 6 that is based on Android 9 Pie. Other features include speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos and 3,680 mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
