OnePlus 8 Pro Revealed: Revamped Design & 120Hz Display Confirmed

In the first half of 2020, OnePlus will launch its next flagship smartphone series, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. But leaked information about the duo has also appeared quite a lot, signaling that the official launch date is also imminent. The latest leak has revealed several specs of the phone and it will come with several changes in terms of design.

It can be seen that OnePlus will change the design of its next flagship smartphone. It no longer uses the pop-up camera design, but switch to the punch-hole design. It seems like the punch-hole display design has been the one to go for many smartphone makers. Not only Samsung, but Xiaomi, Motorola, and several others have already or are expected to use the design on their upcoming phones. The display of the OnePlus 8 Pro will be curved on both sides and have a small punch-hole at the upper left corner for a single selfie camera.

The back design of OnePlus 8 Pro is also quite simple, with a vertically-placed triple camera cluster located in the middle next to a ToF sensor placed on the left of the camera module. Below is the familiar OnePlus logo. Just like the recent OnePlus smartphones, the handset will be equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

In terms of specifications, the handset will be equipped with Snapdragon 865 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage. There should be a top-end variant with 12GB of RAM as the handset was recently spotted on a Geekbench listing with 12GB of RAM.

The source also said that the OnePlus 8 Pro will have a 120Hz screen, upgraded from the OnePlus 7's 90Hz screen and CEO Pete Lau also confirmed this information earlier. Finally, OnePlus 8 Pro will be equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 50W fast charging.
