Many Android Phones Have These Features But The iPhone 11 Doesn't

Last week, Apple announced the iPhone 11 lineup, featuring many interesting new features in all three devices with the main focus falling on the cameras.

Just last week, Apple announced the iPhone 11 lineup, featuring a lot of interesting new features in all three devices with the main focus falling on the cameras. However, it looks like Apple has left out a few things that were rumored to come to the iPhone 11.

Reverse wireless charging

This feature has come to Samsung Galaxy S10, Note 10, and Huawei P30 Pro.

Before the announcement of the iPhone 11 lineup, these phones were rumored to support reverse wireless charging. This means users can both charge the iPhone on a wireless charging pad and charge other devices on the phone.

This feature is really helpful, especially for Apple users with an economy of devices like the AirPods, Watch Series, and iPhones, which all have support for wireless charging.

Apple Pencil support

This feature is available on Samsung Galaxy Note 10, iPad Pro, and iPad.

The iPhone 11 and 11 Pro won’t support Apple’s smart stylus, though the 11 Pro Max will still work with Apple Pencil. However, that won’t bring you the enhancements of the Pencil, such as the ability to draw thicker and thinner lines by using different pressures as well as gesture controls.

While no other phones besides the iPhone have support for Apple’s stylus, the Galaxy Note 10 has a smart stylus that offers the same gesture controls and air gesture controls that let users move the pen to control some aspect of the smartphone. For instance, swiping the stylus in the air will scroll through the photo gallery.

5G support

This feature has come to big names like the Galaxy Fold, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, Note 10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ, and Galaxy S10 5G.

While the next-generation wireless network hasn’t rolled out everywhere, it would still be nice to know your handset is ready for whenever that comes. Apple had already said that it wouldn’t have a 5G iPhone this year. This is not necessarily bad news as it’s still hard to use 5G right now.

But still, Apple’s major rivals are having the ability that the iPhone doesn’t.

Expandable storage

Most current smartphones have this support, except for the Galaxy Fold and Google Pixel 3.

This is not a new problem but rather something Apple has chosen to exclude throughout these years. Many Android phones come with a MicroSD card slot, allowing users to expand the storage on their devices. Apple doesn't seem to have any intention to include a card slot as upgrading internal memory is the path for the iPhone.

A headphone jack

Some of the newest smartphones have this, including the Samsung Galaxy S10, Google Pixel 3a, and LG G8 ThinQ.

While people are adopting wireless earbuds along with technology advancements, a headphone jack is still favored by many people. But Apple decided to ditch it in the iPhone 11, probably a way to make users have to buy its AirPods.
