Huawei Nova 6 5G Has The Best Selfie Cameras In The World: DxOMark

The key difference between the selfie cameras on the Nova 6 & Nova 6 5G is PDAF, which is only available in the latter.

Huawei released the Huawei Nova 6 lineup in China, including Nova 6 SE, Nova 6, and Nova 6 5G. The Nova 6 & Nova 6 5G are both equipped with two selfie cameras housed in the pill-shaped cut-out on the front. According to the DxOMark evaluation, the front-facing snappers on the Nova 6 5G are the best you can get on the market. The setup scored 100 points, surpassing the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G by just 1 point.

To recall, the Nova 6 5G gets dual selfie camera setup, consisting of a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter.

The camera cluster is said to offer good exposure in many conditions with the help of HDR processing, according to DxOMark. It also has a wide dynamic range, which allows users to take pictures in tricky conditions, the white balance is highly accurate and colours are nice as well.

PDAF is one of the key highlights of the handset’s cameras. With that, you can take photos with great focus from closeups to two to three meters distance. 

However, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro has a slightly more reliable when it comes to exposure. The Nova 6 5G’s selfie cameras also sometimes get slightly wrong skin tones. However, DxOMark was very impressive by its HDR and Bokeh mode.

The handset is packed with a 6.57-inch IPS LCD panel, which offers up to Full-HD+ resolution. It gets processing power from a Kirin 990 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Software-wise, it gets the latest Android 10 out of the box and MIUI 10 on top.

On the imaging front, it rocks three rear cameras, one of which is a 40MP main sensor with PDAF. The other two cameras are an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, its dual selfie system consists of a 32MP primary camera with PDAF and an 8MP ultra-wide snapper. Finally, the whole setup is fueled by a 4,200 mAh battery, which is backed by the 40W quick charging solution. 

You can get the Nova 6 5G in China for a starting price of RMB 3,799 (roughly Rs. 38,600).
