Huawei Mate 30 Pro Spotted In The Wild Again, Wide Notch & Curved Display Revealed

The upcoming Huawei Mate 30 Pro is seen in a new live photo and it reveals the phone to feature a wide notch and a curved display.

The upcoming Huawei Mate 30 Pro is once again spotted in the wild in real-life photos. The images show its front design, which is quite similar to what we have seen on previous live photos of the phone. According to the photo, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will come with thin bezels and a screen that curves towards both sides. We can also see a wide notch on the top of the display, which will likely accommodate the selfie camera and several sensors for 3D Face Unlock feature. Recently, several screen protectors were leaked online, showing the phone to feature as many as 5 holes in its notch for various sensors.

However, we can’t really learn anything more about the Mate 30 Pro’s live photo other than its front design. According to previous reports, the handset might sport a 6.7-inch OLED panel. There will be an ultrasonic on-screen fingerprint reader under its display for faster and more reliable readings compared to the optical one on its predecessor Mate 20 Pro. The leaked photos suggest that Huawei might ditch the earpiece to make use of the Sound-On-Display tech that is already present on the Huawei P30 Pro.

In terms of camera, the Mate 30 Pro might come with a triple rear camera system, including two 40MP sensors, and an 8MP sensor. The 40MP primary camera is said to feature f/1.4-f/1.5 aperture and RYYB pixel layout, while the 40MP secondary shooter is expected to be an ultra-wide lens. The 8MP third camera will likely support 5X zoom. Additionally, the Mate 30 Pro was recently tipped to feature the SuperSensing tech, according to a recent trademark. Moreover, the brand is also planning to stop using Gorilla Glass and replace it with its own AIR Glass on the forthcoming Mate 30 series. Other notable rumored specs include a 4,200 mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging solution and a Kirin 985 chipset.

As for launch date, the Huawei Mate 30 series is expected to launch at a launch event in October.
