Apple’s New iPhone Might Come With An Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera

This feature can be found on both the Galaxy S10 and some LG smartphones

What most people are impressed the most by the Galaxy S10 is its ultrawide camera, which can take pictures of a broader landscape. According to a new report surfaced recently, Apple might be considering adding the same feature to its latest iPhone.

Ming-Chi Kuo, who has an extensive portfolio of accurate predictions about Apple’s products, in a note to his clients, said that two new iPhones, which has 5.8 inches and 6.5 inches of display would sport a 12MP super-wide camera.

On Thursday, the note’s content was revealed by blogs including MacRumors, Apple Insider, and 9to5Mac. Earlier this year, Bloomberg has made a similar prediction, which claimed that the new iPhone would have a third snapper that is capable of taking in a larger field and enhanced zooming features.

This new camera arrangement with an ultrawide lens is believed to accompany the next in line of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The successor of the iPhone XR with a screen of 6.1 inches will have only two cameras only.

What Kuo talked about sounds familiar to what has already been on the Galaxy S10. The new phone may feature a 16MP sensor with 123-degree FOV, which is wider than the Galaxy S10’s 77-degree FOV. However, if a camera with a broader range is what you are after, please note that the smartphone from Samsung is not the only one with this function. LG’s smartphones have already had such a camera since 2016. Along with the improvement on the rear camera setup, the selfie snappers of the new iPhones will also have an upgrade, which boosts their megapixels to 12.

The iPhones have had their cameras stand out for as long as anyone can remember and Apple is planning to change this. It is believed that both the front and rear snappers will be in black to blend right in with the rest of the phone.

Apart from the improved cameras, there might be reverse wireless charging and a new design.
