User Can Soon Post Stories From Facebook To Instagram Cross-Posting Feature

Facebook is testing a new feature that, if it comes to life, will allow users to make a post go live on both Facebook and Instagram Stories simultaneously.

The influence of Facebook on Instagram is increasing; what features are offered on the world's largest social network will eventually show up on the photo-sharing app. There is information that Facebook is testing a new feature that allows for posting stories from its platform to Instagram. Jane Manchun Wong, an app researcher, posted a screenshot showing how this feature could work on the Facebook app for Android. Just by enabling the automatically cross-posting feature, stories posted on Facebook will appear on Instagram Stories too; this is very convenient for users. The social giant is formally testing this feature so some users can try it now.

As in the screenshot Wong has shared, to enable the feature, users need to switch the "Share Story to Instagram" toggle then stories will be cross-posted automatically. According to Alexandru Voica, Facebook's EMEA Communications Manager, this feature will help simplify posting stories across apps.

A spokesperson of the tech giant said that followers on Facebook and Instagram of a user may be different so this new feature will help to share moments on two apps become easier and take less time. However, there is no information confirming the limit of the test.

The cross-posting is promising to be a useful feature in which users share their stories to their followers on both the social platforms quickly without having to post the same thing twice separately on two apps. However, the developing team still cannot affirm if the post will pop up as unseen on Facebook when users have seen it on Instagram. If you have some followers on Facebook and Instagram, many of them might feel annoying when they see the same post twice. Although this new feature will make it much more convenient for users, it's likely a step further for Mark Zuckerberg to merge the three platforms that his company owns.
