Twitter Tests Conversation Tree, Which Is Similar To Reddit

Earlier this year, an application named Twttr was launched by Twitter, with an aim to test the latest features and changes, which are being operated by the team testers. Twttr will have a new way of displaying conversations, such as threaded replies as well as other visual cues.

The conversations on Twitter now look confusing and messy, especially when there are many replies to an original tweet. As a solution for this, Twitter displayed a gray line which implies a continuous conversation. However, this update will soon no longer remain. 

Twitter will test tree-layout conversations in the form of message cards, which are similar to conversations on Reddit. This feature was discovered by Jane Manchun Wong, the well-known app engineer, that it can be applied on Twttr. After a few weeks, the feature was further tweaked and focused on a particular tweet.

And similar to Reddit, Twitter will label the original poster with a small microphone symbol. In other words, the person beginning the conversation will be recognized by a microphone. However, it is not certain whether this feature will be implemented in the core application or not. 

Now the conversations on twttr will be threaded together so that the user can have detailed views as well as can easily follow the flow of the conversation and avoid confusion about other conversations. Replies will now follow with the right conversations only. If you click on any replies, you can still see other previous replies in the same conversations.

As confirmed with TechCrunch, Twitter is expected to launch this feature next year. And only the best features are selected to be included in the final product, regardless of whether it is app-based or web-based.
