Wanna Work From Home Forever? Let's Go For A Job At Twitter!

Such a decision has been put under discussion since Twitter was one of the first companies that approve remote working.

Because of the widespread COVID-19 virus, CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey has offered his employees to start their official remote work for the rest of their life if that is what they expect. In comparison with other companies such as Facebook and Alphabet, Twitter has increased the time of online working rather than asking all of their staff to return the office at the beginning of the next year.

As announced in an email sent to his employees on Tuesday, Dorsey said that the employees could choose to work from home entirely. But not all of them will be able to do so. Those who perform physical duties, maintenance staff for example, still have to work at the office, while other employee performing tasks can be done faraway can adopt the new law.

The spokesperson of Twitter also shared with BuzzFeed News that their decision has been put under considerable discussion, starting from the time they were one of the first companies that approve remote working.

Added by Dorsey, there is very little likelihood of Twitter’s offices being reopened before September. It is among the first tech companies that force nearly 5000 employees to work from home.

Besides, Google and Facebook have also made up their mind then announced to permit most staff to adopt the remote working model through the end of this year. Both of the two companies’ workforce will be able to work in their offices from July, but they are still allowed to work from home if their tasks can be finished distantly.

Following this trend, e-commerce giant Amazon India has also made allowance for its employees to work remotely until October.
