On both Google Store and App Store, most of TikTok’s downloads are from India. The nation that contributes the second most users is China, which stood at 173.2 million. This figure excludes installs coming from third-party Android stores in the country. The U.S ranks in third place with 123.8 million, accounting for 8.2%.

For TikTok, India has been the main contributor of users. This year, the platform has gained over 277.6 million installs from the country. This number makes up around 45% of global downloads. In 2019, the second-biggest source of users for the platform is China with 45.5 million. The figure for the U.S is 37.6 million.

The report said that TikTok is downloaded 614 million times in 2019. Last year, the China-based company gained 655 million downloads. With this achievement, TikTok ranks right behind WhatsApp and Messenger, with 707.4 million and 636.2 million respectively.

ByteDance, the company behind TikTok has made multiple changes to the app. It is currently testing a social commerce function by allowing users to add links to their bios. Last month, the company banned ads related to politics in the U.S and EU, as well as introducing EduTok, a learning program in India.

TikTok has reached the mark of $175 million in lifetime users spend on both App Store and Google Play Store all over the world. This is mostly from users in China, who contribute $84.5 million, following by the U.S with $62.4 million. The third spot belongs to the UK with $6.9 million.
