Tesla To Enter India In 2019, Elon Musk Hints Local Production For Lower Prices

As usual, Elon Musk has made an announcement on Twitter about Tesla current situation and its plans for the near future. According to his Tweet, the company is occupying a good position in the EV race and there are plans for maintaining that, as well as local production.

Particularly, the billionaire’s tweet praised Panasonic, Tesla’s battery partner, for its hard work and wonderful outcomes at Gigafactory, Nevada. Musk mentioned the lock-in that Panasonic has achieved with the speedy production of Tesla’s cars, can now make batteries too.

Among his tweets, Musk suggested entering India as well as South America and Africa as soon as next year. This entry means more products to be offered in this country the next year.

For a long time, Tesla has shown its interest in India; it had even previously announced to build a Gigafactory in this country to localize the production. It is likely that the firm will first release the Model 3 in India, which is the most affordable model. Considering Indian government’s policy on electric vehicles, it’s just a matter of time before this plan comes true.
