In PWA, users get to enjoy all the features they can find in the desktop version of the platform, so the app is essentially a web-version wrapper around Pinterest. There is the Pinterest Lens that taps computer vision for detecting real-world objects and make suggestions about related items. The app also comes with buttons and shortcuts which allow users to save ideas, browse trending and recommended Pins, as well as search for several things such as beauty, home, style, food ideas, etc.

According to a spokesperson of VentureBeat, the app also comes with support for Jump Lists and Live Tiles of Windows, and notifications are expected to go live soon. In addition, users will get to enjoy offline functionality and the app will be integrated with Microsoft Edge's Share Menu though the timeline remains unknown.

This introduction of Pinterest’s Windows app is considered as the following step for a feature that allows the users to upload their catalog into shoppable Pins called Pinterest Catalogs, and make it appear on Related Products and Pins by brands. In other news, the recent shopping recommendation of Pinterest is specialized according to the analysis of the user’s interest and behaviors via their saved items.

The social platform has been turning its attention toward commercial attitude and planning for an initial public offering (IPO) indeed. In 2017, the company introduced the Lens Your Look, which allows users to take a photo of clothing’s item and look for alike choices. Then, the “Shop the Look” feature became fully automated last month, which supports users in purchasing desired items from companies in connection with Pinterest. In September, the famous social network introduced to its customer a new API function, which aimed to assists brands in finding and maintaining a relationship with influencers by tracking Pin’s viewers, impressions, and engagement.

By now, Pinterest owns a network of 250 million users active monthly which had more than 175 billion saved pins under 4 billion organized boards.
