Everything Google Announced At Its Made By Google Event

Google has done a pretty bad job at keeping its projects secret but it does not mean the Made by Google event has no surprises left for us

In its Made by Google event, the company announced lots of its new devices. Since it has done a pretty bad job at keeping its projects secret, we have heard about almost all of them even before today. However, it does not mean the event has no surprises left for us.

Here is everything the company uncovered at the event:

Pixel 4

The Soli chip inside enables controls of gestures from a distance

Pixel 4 is arguably the most leaked phone ever, so this is more like a recap for you.

One of the highlights is the Soli chip inside, which enables controls of gestures from a distance. It also has a telephoto lens on the rear and a 90hz screen. The additional camera allows users to capture subjects from afar as well as giving portrait photos more depth.

Pixel 4 XL has enhanced Night Sight so images taken in low light will look even better. For super long exposures, you can rely on the automatic astrophotography mode. Users also have two exposure controls for shadow levels and overall brightness when they access the camera app, giving users more flexibility to be creative.

Under the hood, we have the usual flagship hardware like RAM of 6GB, inbuilt storage of 64 or 128GB, and a Snapdragon 855. Google skips the 855+ chip with more power, but users may not notice much of a difference. This hardware enables some new features too, like the automatic transcribing of audio within the voice recorder

New Pixel Buds

The new Pixel Buds feature the same touch surface, but this time, the earbuds are truly wireless

This year, Google is back in the headset business with the successor of the Pixel Buds. Although they feature the same touch surface, this time, the earbuds are truly wireless.

They get smarter too. Thanks to the acoustic seal, Google can now make use of the microphone for proper active noise canceling function. According to Google, the earbuds will change the volume according to the noise level of your surroundings.

On their own, the earbuds can operate for five hours after one single charge. With the case, the time can reach 24 hours. They are available for $179 but you will have to wait until next year’s spring to get them.

Pixelbook Go

Its battery can last for 12 hours on a single charge

Google launched a new laptop called the Pixelbook Go with an FHD screen of 13.3 inches, a ridged rubber bottom, and magnesium-alloy design. Its battery can last for 12 hours on a single charge and its weight is 900g. For the operating system, you will have nothing other than Chrome OS.

Under the hood, users can either choose Intel 8th Gen Core m3 or Core i7, storage of either 64GB or 2456GB, and RAM of 8GB or 16GB.

A Pixelbook Go will set you back at least $649 and the price can reach a maximum of $1,399.

Google Nest Mini is the successor of Google Home Mini with a similar external design. However, on the inside, we do have some upgrades. Google has improved the response speed and the quality of sounds of the new device, and now the Nest can automatically adjust the volume based on the surrounding noise.

Google Nest Wi-Fi

You can imagine the Google Nest Wi-Fi as a Nest Mini inside a router

Google’s Nest Wi-Fi is the company’s take on the Wi-Fi system but the device can double as a speaker. So you can imagine it as a Nest Mini inside a router.

Google Stadia

In the event, Google said that Stadia, its own game streaming service, will be available on the 19th of November. However, this date of release is for the Chromecast Ultra users only.
