Thanks To India, Xiaomi Has Become World's 3rd-Largest Phone Maker

Unlike the giant Huawei, Xiaomi has to face no ban imposed by President Donald Trump and his government. Huawei’s unfortunate tragedy now turns to be Xiaomi’s opportunity as a recent report already claimed that Xiaomi has become the third-largest phone maker in the world, considering India has played a “very important” role for this evolvement.

According to the research company Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi shipped a total of 6 million smartphone units globally in the month of February. With the Indian market, Xiaomi’s sales have been considered as an integral part of its global campaign for a long while. This could be a telling example: Earlier reports stated that the company’s sales in its home market were seeing downfall but the business in India continued to proliferate rapidly.

As the number one smartphone brand in the market, Xiaomi has outplayed other big competitors like Vivo and Samsung to achieve more sales than any of them. In fact, Xiaomi has also kept up with the growth in most European markets.

Out of all commonly-seen strategies, Xiaomi usually offers feature-laden products with really affordable and competitive prices.

The COVID-19 outbreak made every manufacturer’s shipments sink down in February, but Xiaomi still gained over Huawei when it comes to overall sales. Without Google's apps, Huawei’s latest smartphones don’t appear to cater to users outside China. It remains unclear whether or not Huawei could revitalize in the near future, but it’s obviously a precious chance for Xiaomi.
