In The Latest Update, WhatsApp Users Can No Longer Save Profile Pictures To Their Phones

'In the latest beta version 2.19.319, the option to save profile pictures is no longer there.'

In the latest update for WhatsApp Android beta, the Facebook-owned company will not allow users to save others’ profile pictures on their phones. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the platform has killed the possibility of saving profile photos in the latest beta updates for Android as well as the beta for iOS 2.19.60.5 regarding WhatsApp Business.

Initially, a beta tester of WhatsApp in India spotted this feature, who then tweeted to WABetaInfo to ask about this update. In particular, Swarup Mondal wrote that with beta 2.19.319, users won't see the option to save profile photos, except for groups.

In response, WABetaInfo confirmed this feature, but it will still let users save group icons. Apart from that, the company has not revealed any other information on the public release of this feature.

Moreover, the new updated version of the app on Android beta will include 155 redesigned emojis. Besides selected emojis that got fully redesigned, the others underwent minor changes only. In addition, WhatsApp has also added the Night mode compatibility to the chat list. As revealed by the cited source, the Night mode isn’t available yet on the app, and the company is developing this feature on the upcoming update to make sure users can have the best bug-free experiences while using the app.

In separate news, the popular messaging platform may also add animated stickers for users to use. It was reported by the same source that the feature will come to online services of both iOS and Android users.

Last month, WhatsApp was conducting tests on an ‘Authentication’ feature where users cannot take screenshots of their private conversations. The Facebook-owned social platform seems to be doing everything it can to improve user experience as well as protect their privacy and security following a number of data breaches since last year.
