A recent report from 9to5Google has indicated that Google is working on a new feature of Google Assistant to help people make conversations more easily without the need for unlocking their phones. If successful, we’ll soon be able to use voice commands to send text messages from the lock screen. As part of the plan, the latest beta version 10.28 has been spotted with the presence of this functionality.
Some screenshots have also been leaked, suggesting that it was already available on Pixel 3 model which runs Android 9 Pie. Of course, this is likely to be an A/B test, so that nothing is certain in term of a launch date for every user.
Here’re some more details about this feature for those who are wondering about how it works. By using voice commands only, you’ll demand the Google Assistant to deliver a message in text form as well as dictating it and specifying contact directly from your lock screen. Besides the voice confirmation, a green tick will appear as another confirmation when your message was sent successfully. In fact, you’re not required to have your phone unlocked to experience the functionality, so the entire process actually takes you less time to do things.
Until now, we usually have to unlock the phone to send any type of message, even text messages created by the voice assistant of Google with settings in “Lock screen personal results”.
A load of new features that come with Google Assistant were claimed at the company’s I/O conference held in May. The smart assistant has been set to get along with personal references in different contexts. In addition, the next-gen Assistant is also expected to be ten times faster, thanks to the new innovating method.
