Google Assistant Can Soon Read & Reply To Messages From Third-Party Apps

Google Assistant is getting a new ability to read out third-party apps' messages. According to Android Police's report, with this new ability, you could use Google Assistant to read & reply to messages from applications such as Telegram, Discord, GroupMe, Slack, and WhatsApp.
Google Assistant's new ability
Before, if you ask the voice assistant to read your messages, it would only be able to access messages from native SMS app or Hangouts apps. But now, it will ask you for permission to access the notifications. After that, you will receive a general disclaimer about what happens one you enable this feature.
It is confirmed that this new feature of Google Assistant is already available on version 0.1.1879345513 of the app. Once you give it the needed permission, it will be able to read all the messages you received, no matter which application those messages are from. And once it finishes reading the message, the app will ask if you would like it to reply - which you could input by voice or typing.
Another interesting feature is coming
Interestingly, the rival of Google Assistant - Siri has already been able to read and reply to messages from third-party apps since 2016. And according to a report of 9to5Google, the search giant is testing Google Assistant ability to sending out text messages to your contacts without having to unlock your smartphone, which is already available on Siri.
