Apple Will Reportedly Launch Its A Fodable Device In 2021

According to an investor note of UBS, Apple is reportedly working to develop its own folding devices, which might be launched next year

According to an investor note of UBS, a Switzerland-based multinational investment bank and financial services company, Apple is reportedly working to develop its own folding devices. However, we may see a foldable iPad before this technology comes to iPhones.

The report also claims that we may expect to see the first device in 2020; however, many people believe that 2021 is a more suitable timeframe.

The bank said that while Samsung was dominating the intellectual property fillings of foldable devices, Apple was ramping up its effort to launch its own folding iPad or iPhone next year, but 2021 was more likely.

The report also said the price would be the largest hindrance for the adoption of folding devices. Consumers are willing to pay around $400 to $500 more for a handset that can fold, with Apple users stretching their budget bit more. This conclusion of UBS suggests manufacturers may need to try harder to reduce the price of foldable devices.

The bank revealed that a folding device was an appealing offer for around a third of consumers, with China being the country with the highest demand.

There have been numerous rumors of Apple’s patents for folding devices and images of possible concepts are leaked, with ideas for both iPhone and iPad.

While nothing is certain about this information, there is one thing we can believe: Apple may take a more cautious approach to this new concept after the embarrassing experience of Samsung with its Galaxy Fold.

Back in April, it took Samsung’s first foldable phone less than 48 hours to show design flaws. The company then called back all of the sample devices and announced a delay of shipment for pre-orders. The last time we heard about the Galaxy Fold was when the company said that they might make it to the market this September.
