When the hardware event was close to its end, Amazon made public a new program to test and sell its limited and experimental Day 1 Editions items.

One of the highlights is Echo Frames, glasses with Alexa built-in. However, it is not like Google Glass that has a camera and display; the one from Amazon only features a speaker and microphones.

Another product is the Echo Loop, a ring also with Alexa. And just like Echo Frames, it has a tiny speaker and two microphones too. Both of the hardware will be available later this year for invited buyers only and in a limited number.

Echo Loop and Echo Frames will be priced at $129.99 and $179.99 for the initial period.

Buyers can purchase the glasses without prescription lenses, and if they wish, they can add those in later. With the weight of 31 grams, the look is not exactly stylish but still acceptable.

The ring is by far the weirdest item Amazon introduced at the event as people might find it odd talking or listening to Alexa by putting it close to their mouth or their ears.

For now, they are pretty much products in the experimental stage and what Amazon expects is to get feedback from users. That is exactly what the company said about the Alexa microwave, and now it is the best-selling microwave on Amazon.
