In 2019, About 1800 Jobs Or More Will Be Created By Amazon In France Only

On July 02, Amazon – the retail giant of US indicated that in 2019, about 1800 permanent contract positions will be created in France. The country has always been one of the company’s largest markets in Europe, ranking after Germany and Britain only.

Since 2010, the corporation has invested more than 2,2 billion euros in the French market. The increase in jobs will push the number of Amazon’s permanent staff to 9300. This is a reflection of Amazon’s commitment to this particular market.

The US tech company has gradually expanded in France. Since its first investment in this market until now, it presently has 20 sites in total. Among those, there are 6 logistics centers and the most recent one to be opened will be located in Bretigny-Sur-Orge, which is near Paris.

In France, with 17.3 per cent of market share, Amazon is considered the leader in e-commerce. However, its share of the grocery market is not that high. The share for this market is only 2 per cent, as reported by Kantar.

Ever since 2016, the express delivery service Amazon Prime has been run by the US group. This particular group recently stated that it wanted to expand in food retail and that it would want to carry out a delivery service of groceries in France. It seems like this company really wants to dominate the French market, so let’s wait and see whether this giant success or not.

Back in April 2019, Amazon partnered with French food retailer Casino and expanded its associations. With the collaboration, the company is doing its best to install pick-up lockers which are located in Casino stores. And the company is also working on bringing more French products to Amazon.
