Sometimes you will find the Autocorrect feature installed in your smartphone is really useful because it saves you from typos when writing emails or texts. Nevertheless, it also gets you into trouble when it turns the meaning of a message into something negative. In order to get rid of those annoying situations, you may need to understand how the feature and other related operate to turn them off on your Samsung phone.

The reason for the action is quite simple. As a matter of fact, the intelligence of this feature is not as reliable as expected. When you have to enter some scientific-related words, it will take a little time to analyze those terms. Therefore, in these cases, it is obviously faster to do it yourself than trying to adapt Autocorrect. There remain some matters related to personal privacy. Samsung can access your private data to analyze the writing style of your own. In spite of the fact that it will be a help to some users, it can be seen as a privacy invasion to others. 

Note: Autocorrect is also known as Auto Replace on Samsung phones. Although they have different names, they have the same concept. 

Way to turn off Samsung’s Autocorrect

The steps here are quite easy to follow. Once you access the right setting, you can both turn off and make some changes to the function. 

  1. Tap Apps on the home screen to turn on Settings. 
  2. Swipe down to find System, then choose Language and input.  autocorrect 2
  3. Select Default, then access Auto Replace. (If you have a third keyboard app, Default section may be shown up in another name)
  4. Now tap the green tick box near the language choice or the one on the top right of the screen to turn the feature off. In case you want to switch it on, you can reverse the manipulation with the same buttons. autocorrect 3
