Xiaomi Plans To Launch 'RedmiBook 13' Laptop In India

Xiaomi first launched the RedmiBook 13 in China with the Redmi K30 smartphone in tow.

Xiaomi devices are mushrooming in the Indian market as the Chinese company has put a lot of effort into not only smartphones but also TVs and smart home segments. As part of the company’s all-around strategy, Xiaomi plans to expand its business in the laptop segment in the country. As reported, its laptop trademark, dubbed “RedmiBook”, has been set to come imminently.

The first model in Xiaomi’s laptop lineup apparently is RedmiBook 13. As per 91Mobiles, Xiaomi first launched this model in China with the Redmi K30 smartphone in tow. In the Chinese market, the laptop is priced at around Rs 42,000 for the base variant.

The RedmiBook 13 boasts a 13.3-inch display with Full HD and the viewing angle can reach up to 178 degrees. It comes packed with the Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia’s GeForce MX250 GPUs, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD internal storage. In addition to the powerful hardware, the RedmiBook 13 will run on Windows 10 Home Edition as well as sport an HD camera and DTS Audio technology.

Lenovo held the top position with 28.5% of market share in Q3 2019.

In India, users tend to buy laptops from common names like Asus, HP, Dell, Acer, and Lenovo. A last year’s report indicated that the Chinese brand Lenovo held the top position with 28.5% of market share in Q3 2019, followed by said names in the top five.

Xiaomi is not the only company that wants to put footprint onto the Indian laptop market. Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei, recently scheduled a launch to take on the laptop space in India with two models named MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15. Both of them are said to arrive in India in the coming months.
