Bose’s New Noise-Cancelling Headphones May Raise The Bar For The Entire Industry

The Bose 700 is a big leap in noise-canceling technology. However, we may have to wait for a full review to decide if we should but it

Bose has just announced its new Noise Cancelling Headphone 700, which will be launched on the 30th of June. Some reviewers who have had the chance to try the pair speak highly of it.

Bose is such a big name in the industry that anything coming out of its brand has the assurance of quality. In fact, the company’s QC 35s is the standard for the whole noise canceling sector. With this Bose 700, it has made a few improvements over the last few generations so you will have even better performance.

So if you are curious about this pair of headphones, here are some of the early reviews:

The Bose 700 Is Minimalist

Given the appearance of QC 35, the design of Bose 700 is quite a leap. This upcoming headphone does not exactly look like Bose’s style, because most people will associate the company with the iconic QC 35.

Bose 700 is the first in line for a series of noise-canceling headphones, meaning more will come in the future, so if you have not got used to the new look, you had better start right away.

If you compare the two headphones, the Bose 700 and the QC 35, you will notice that the former has fewer screws, seams, and lines. The stainless steel headband is another difference. These changes have given Bose 700 a higher-end look than the QC 35.

However, when it comes to headphone, the appearance and the feeling when users hold them are not exactly the decisive factors. And as an audiophile would know, sound quality is what you should pay attention to.

The appearance of Bose 700 is definitely a plus for people who want to commute or travel with the headphone on. The company has used better materials so that people feel that what they have to pay for the Bose 700 is money well spent.

Please note that Bose 700 does not fold up like the QC 35 does, so it is not as travel-friendly. So if you are on the market for a more compact model, you might want to look elsewhere. However, they can fit in most bags and backpacks as you can lay them flat on any surface.

The first thing you will notice when you try them on is that the headphone is lightweight. But none of the reviewers had the chance to wear them long enough for a more likely answer, so this might change if you have them on for a longer time.

From what we know of the Bose QC 35, wearing them for a few hours is not a problem at all. Hopefully, that property will be on the new Bose 700 too.

The noise canceling feature seems to be more competent than that of the QC 35, but that may change too when users have the chance to try them on in the real world.

Most of the reviewers worn the headphone in a controlled room with ambient music, and the Bose 700 did pretty well.

Bose said that the upcoming headphone would have its latest noise-canceling technology, making it more superior than the QC 35. We have to wait and see if the company can deliver that promise.

There was a demo for this tech on Bose 700 featuring Ken Jacob, a company’s engineer, and another representative. Jacob called the other person who was sitting inside a noisy coffee shop with the QC 35 on. At first, the conversation was conveyed in full, but the noise from the music and conversations of the coffee shop still made its way through.

Next, the representative switched to Bose 700, and suddenly, all the noises disappeared. There were some ambient sounds broke through but the conversation was much clearer and less distracting.

In nature, what Bose did was to share the technology to the other person who you are talking to. The effect will be pretty awesome if that person also has a competent pair of noise-canceling headphones. There is no guarantee that there are no other sounds that can distract you from the conversation, but it is clear that the feature has been quite a leap in technology.

Helping you avoid noises is not only beneficial calls you may have, but also for smart assistants such as Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, or Google Assistant to do their work better. With less distracting sounds, they are able to hear your command better even if you are in a noisy environment.

They Have Fantastic Sounds, But Not Quite Surprising

No reviewer had any complaint of the sounds Bose 700 produced. The songs were clear and natural for most genres of music.

However, as most of them had so little time with the headphones, the experience may change somehow, but if the Bose 700 can be as good as the QC 35, most users will be pleased. However, many people have pre-ordered the new headphones even before they are more thoroughly reviewed, which speaks volume of how people trust the brand name Bose.

So overall, based on what the early reviewers think about them, Bose 700 is a worth waiting for. They look minimalistic, simple, yet eye-catching. The noise canceling function works better than that of the QC 35, which makes taking phone calls less annoying if you are in a noisy environment. Better yet, the sound quality is as good as what the QC 35 can produce.

The Bose 700 is 50$ more expensive than the price of QC 35, but that extra money can bring worthy benefits, so there is no complaint here.

However, not everyone will surely like them as no one has had enough time with them to judge. You can always pre-order if you want, but it is best to read the full review before buying anything, as mishap can happen to everything.

The Bose 700 will be out on the 30th of June.
