This Man Was Born With No Testicles, Getting One From His Identical Brother

Having an identical twin has pros and cons, but this man benefits from a huge pro of having an identical twin brother who can share testicles with him.

People say that everything has pros and cons, and when it comes to identical twins, there are a bunch of pros and cons we can think of. Having an identical twin means you two share a lot of things starting with physical features, that may cause you trouble sometimes when a person mistakes you with the other. But in this case, having an identical twin clearly brings a huge benefit: you can share testicles!

As weird as it may sound, it’s true. However, it doesn’t mean two people have the same pair of testicles.

In particular, a man, who is now 36 years old, was born with no testicles. But received one testicle from this identical twin brother, having it transplanted in an operation that lasted six hours.

Supposedly, the surgery would give him more stable testosterone levels than he could get from injections. According to transplant surgeon, urology professor Dr. Dicken Ko, the procedure was expected to make his genitals more comfortable, more natural, enabling him to have children, the Independent reported.

This is the third operation of this type of transplant, the other two were also done on identical twins.

The doctors carried out the transplantation at the University Children’s Clinic in Belgrade. The twins are doing well and the receiver has normal levels of testosterone now.

There were no worries that the body of the recipient would reject the transplant since identical twins share the same genetic makeup. This means he didn’t have to take immune-suppressing drugs that are required in most transplant cases.

This man is fortunate to have an identical brother who can and is willing to give him one testicle, especially when the operation had a low probability of complications.
