This Web App Shows You The Transformation Of 540 Cities Under Climate Change

People can be more aware of the effects of climate change on specific places through a web application developed by two American researchers.

Recently, everyone in the world has probably seen the effects of climate change in many areas through the news. Typically, sea levels are rising while Arctic ice is melting constantly. However, for those who do not live in areas that are heavily affected by climate change, they do not seem to really see that this is an important issue.

Climate images of many North American cities in 2080 are predicted on the websites of two American researchers.

Now, North Americans can be more aware of the effects of climate change on specific places through a web application developed by two American researchers. In particular, they created a web app capable of providing potential impacts of climate change to the places around them.

Nature Communications published the paper on Tuesday, describing the method to predict the climate of 540 cities in North America by 2080. They later found a place that its climate matches what they are anticipating.

An interactive website with people has been developed by these two researchers. It provides people with a climate condition in 2080 of the city they seek.

Additionally, the climate of any researched location in North America in 2080 will be like the climate of that location 528 miles south of the present. This means that the climate of the US capital in the next 60 years will be the same as the north of Mississippi at the present time. While people in San Francisco in 2080 will feel the climate like Los Angeles today. And L.A will have the weather as same as Las Palmas, Mexico right now.

The climate of North American cities will shift about 528 miles in 60 years

Weather forecasting and calling on people to pay more attention to climate change is no longer a new topic, however, this approach brings more influence to the public. It helps people understand and realize the effects of climate change on our Earth instead of showing various charts or hungry animal images.
