With A Failed Engine, Pilot Landed His Plane On The Highway

During his annual check flight, the pilot found there was an engine failure and managed to land on the highway, in front of a running 18 wheeler.

Taking off and landing are just as important as flying a plane, which is why a pilot has to be skilled at all of these jobs. And in a new video, a pilot showed his skills when his plane had a failed engine, forcing him to land on a highway.

A driver was able to record this incident, in which the pilot managed to land safely on the highway without touching a cable or disturbing a single car.

According to Lafourche Gazette, the small plane ended up on the side of the road on La. Highway 3235. It belonged to Howie Guidry, a pilot and local businessman.

His family confirmed that he owned the plane and with this emergency landing, he avoided what could turn into a very bad situation. Guidry was flying the plane for an annual check and there was a mechanic on board with him.

During the flight, he noticed something wrong. He panicked at first but was able to calm down enough to make use of his years of experience.

Meanwhile, his daughter said she believed the safe landing was thanks to God, “God was definitely his co-pilot today.”

The video of his excellent landing was posted on Reddit where it got thousands of upvotes and compliments on how he handled the situation.
