Coronavirus or Covid-19 is spreading globally. And in the fight against the deadly virus, a Chinese engineer built a bubble armor that mimicked the wings of bats to protect people from the virus. This special equipment is called “Be a Batman.”

Designed by Dayong Sun, Be a Batman includes thermoplastic sheets that have a bat-wing shaped, wrapping around wearers like a bubble armor and protect them from the virus.

Inside the equipment, there are UV lamps that can be heated up to a temperature high enough to terminate any airborne pathogens, even the Covid-19 virus, creating a disinfectant environment. However, WHO has warned that humans should not have direct contact with UV right as the radiation can cause irritation.

According to Dayong Sun, Coronavirus will be killed at 56 Celsius degree. The PVC sheets are like a car’s windshield with integrated heat wire to melt the snow in the winter. Sun also said that he would research more to bring this device to life.

Dayong said he got the inspiration from the superhero Batman and the bats, which was said to be the source of the epidemic. The body temperatures of the bats could reach 40 Celsius degree when flying because of their metabolism. The degrees would return to normal when they are resting. That’s why they can carry viruses inside their body.

At the moment, Sun is looking for investors to start to manufacture his Be a Batman. Although the idea seems to be unique, there are also many inconveniences. It would be uncomfortable to be inside a 55-Celsius degree bubble wrap.
