iPhone’s SOS Feature Saved A Woman From Being Sexually Assaulted

Both iOS and Android have an SOS feature that lets users call for emergency services. Recently, this feature has saved a woman from a sexual assaulter.

If you didn’t know, both iOS and Android have a really cool SOS feature that will let users call for emergency services with just a tap. And recently, this feature has saved a woman from being sexually assaulted.

The lady who doesn’t want to reveal her name was at Virginia Beach at 2:00 AM on December 29. When she was there, a man approached her, saying that his iPhone was lost in the sand. He asked her if he could find it using the “Find My iPhone” feature. Hesitating at first, she still agreed to let him do so.

However, a few moments went by, the woman became suspicious of the man as she saw him struggling to use the device. She got her phone back and tried to run away. But the man came up behind her, tackled her, grabbed her face and tried to cover her mouth. He tackled her to the ground and tried to muffle any noise she was making.

During this, she suddenly realized that she could turn on her iPhone’s Emergency SOS to call for help by holding down the volume and power button at the same time. The call instantly reached the law enforcement.

A unit was sent to her location to rescue her immediately. When he looked up and saw the police, the assaulter ran down the beach to escape. But the police were able to catch him.

An important detail here that had helped the police figured out the woman was on the beach was that she was talking about water. So they came to the beach instead of other locations.
