Elon Musk's OpenAI Launches A Smarter Version Of News-generating AI

OpenAI has tried to make the tool live up to the hype with the original purpose, instead of its first toned-down version.

A few months ago, we did have a chance to see an amazing algorithm, which boasts the ability to generate both text and even fictitious-yet-convincing news. For your more information, the said algorithm is authored by OpenAI - an Elon Musk-backed research firm in artificial intelligence.

This new one is supposed to eclipse its predecessor in terms of potency, considering a six-time-higher performance. However, things come at a cost: the algorithm is arguably threatening of some sort as our cyber world would be polluted by tons of such endless bot-written pieces. In the face of that, the company has tried to make it live up to the hype with the original purpose, instead of its first toned-down version.

GPT2 was got much attention when it was introduced. Nevertheless, it was disappointing that the original version couldn't make meaningful sentences as its intention. For that reason, the company unleashed the new model which can fix the fault and associate with texts or is simply smarter than the first one. Unfortunately, Janelle Shane, an AI expert didn't think so. She had inspected deeply to this one and signalized that it is still likely to give the nonsense results.

"The facts are almost entirely wrong, but there are a lot of them."

AI 3

On the other hand, an algorithm from a team of scientists from the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab and Harvard University almost simultaneously was created. GLTR is used to detect and prevent spam or any text made from an auto tool like GPT2 based on the same models with GPT-2. Unexpectedly, we maybe wait a long time for an active tool to prevent spam and wrong information on the internet. Because GLTR also didn't work in the role of its purpose like GPT-2. It failed in identifying the real text on a website.

In this situation, it is not surprised to hear the soon coming of new version GPT-2. In the words of Open AI, this powerful one will be updated the algorithm based on customer replies. Is it worth waiting for?
