In a talk with PTI, a ISRO’s senior official said that they are trying their best on this mission. And they are likely to launch this mission in the middle of February, but the launch date hasn't been decided yet. It has been on the right track without any obstacles so far.

For further information, the mission is called Chandrayaan-2 which is a 100% local venture. It consists of a lander, a rover, and an orbiter. After successfully landing under control, the Chandrayaan-2’s lander would come down to the surface of the moon without any difficulty or damage at a certain position and release a rover, said the ISRO. Then, the rover with six wheels will go around its landing spot on the surface of the moon in a semi-autonomous mode following the commands from the ground.

The instruments carried along on the rover will carefully watch the surface of the moon and transfer the useful collected data of the soil on the moon for scientists to analyze. Chandrayaan-2 is known to weigh 3,290 kilograms and it will move around the Moon to accomplish its goals of remote sensing it.

Furthermore, it is known that before this mission, the ISRO launched Chandrayaan-1, which is the first lunar mission of India from October 2008 to August 2009.
