Cargo Partners With Uber To Offer Riders In-Car Shopping Incentives

Cargo’s new app, as part of its partnership with Uber, offers riders an incentive shopping system from which Uber drivers will also gain benefits.

When you are using ride-sharing services and want to kill your free time while sitting on the back row, what do you do? Do you spend most of your time surfing the web on your mobile phone, or just looking at outside through the window? If you are using Uber, there is a thing that you can now do, which is shopping, and you might receive a reward for it.

On July 17, Cargo, a commerce platform, made an announcement about its cooperation with Uber to launch the Cargo app. It will allow people using ride-sharing service to search for their desired products on the market and make purchases. In addition, this app also goes with an incentive system for users.

Cargo’s new app offers Uber riders an incentive shopping system.

Below is a detailed instruction for this app. After installing the Cargo app from Apple Store or Google Play, riders can access the Uber app and scan the Cargo Box QR code of their driver. After that, if riders make any purchases on the platform, they can get 10 percent of the total cost back in the form of credits on Uber, which allow riders to take more rides or buy more things on Cargo.

This Cargo’s program is available at both the standard session and the “Daily Deals” session which provides users with higher-priced products, such as devices from Amazon Echo and consoles from Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, on the platform, Cargo offers media for its users as well. The firm has signed the contract with Universal Pictures, which enables riders to download and watch movies either on the go or at another time in the future.

The collaboration between Uber and Cargo last year only offered a small products.

Riders are not the only ones to receive benefits from this plan. For each purchase from a passenger, the driver can make one more dollar. At present, it seems to be nothing in comparison to riders’ 10 percent incentive; however, this is still better than making no extra earnings.

The first time Cargo made an announcement about its collaboration with Uber was exactly a year ago. At that time, their collaboration was just small vending-like boxes on the center console in Uber app, which only provides small products, such as replacement phone chargers and snacks. The appearance of the new Cargo app strengthens their collaboration, which offers within-one-week shipment service for your purchases.
